roma director Gian Paolo Montali affirmed that defender Philippe Mexes will not be moving away from the Giallorossi during the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old has found it tough to claim a position in the starting XI, because of the center-back combination of Juan and Nicolas Burdisso.
Mexes has been linked to AC Milan, Juventus and Arsenal, but Montali says that the Frenchman will stay at the Stadio Olimpico.
"Mexes is a major part of this Roma side, and we have absolutely no intention of getting rid of him," Montali told Parla con me, a show broadcast on Rai Tre.
Montali also thanked coach Claudio Ranieri for all the work he did this season.
"For approximately 40 minutes, we were the Champions of Italy, and we are very proud of our season.
"A particular thank you goes to Ranieri, who totalled 80 points," he added.
